Child Safety

Last updated: July 4, 2026

Child safety is the foundation of everything we build. This page explains the choices we make to protect children, the limits of our role, and what parents and educators should know.

Our role — and its limits

LittleNest AI is a software platform. We are not a regulator, inspector, or guarantor of any daycare's safety or quality. Daycare licensing, inspection, and enforcement are handled by provincial and territorial authorities. Always verify a daycare's licensing status directly through your provincial childcare authority before enrolling.

How we minimize child data

  • We do not collect or store personal information about children directly.
  • Inquiry forms ask only for the child's age range — not name, birthdate, or photo.
  • Our AI documentation features instruct educators not to enter identifiable child information.
  • Any incidental child information shared in inquiry messages is forwarded only to the daycare contacted and is not used for any other purpose.

What we ask of daycare partners

  • Maintain valid licensing in your province or territory.
  • Keep your profile information accurate, including licensing details.
  • Never use LittleNest AI to share photos or identifiable information about children without explicit, informed consent from their parent or guardian.
  • Follow your provincial duty-to-report obligations.

Duty to report

Every adult in Canada has a legal duty to report suspected child abuse or neglect. If you suspect a child is at risk, contact your local children's aid society or police immediately. Do not use LittleNest AI for this — we are not equipped to respond to emergencies.

Helpful Canadian resources

  • Ontario: Children's Aid Society (locate your local society at oacas.org). To report concerns: 1-855-CHILDREN.
  • British Columbia: Helpline for Children — 310-1234 (no area code needed).
  • Alberta: Child Abuse Hotline — 1-800-387-KIDS (5437).
  • Quebec: Directeur de la protection de la jeunesse (DPJ) — see your region.
  • Other provinces and territories: contact your local child protection or child welfare authority — every province and territory has a designated intake line.
  • Kids Help Phone (national, for children): 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868.

Reporting concerns about a daycare listing

If you believe a daycare listed on LittleNest AI is operating without a valid license, misrepresenting itself, or otherwise unsafe, please email safety@littlenestfinder.com. We review every report and will remove listings that violate our policies. Serious concerns should also be reported to your provincial licensing authority.
