Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

LittleNest AI ("we," "us," "our") is an independent service based in Canada. We respect your privacy and follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.

1. Who is responsible for your information

Our founding team acts as the designated Privacy Officer for LittleNest AI. You can reach us at privacy@littlenestfinder.com for any questions, access requests, corrections, complaints, or to withdraw consent.

2. What personal information we collect

From parents: name, email address, phone number (optional), city/postal code, age of child(ren) (in ranges, not names or birthdates), and any message content you submit through inquiry or contact forms.

From daycare owners: business name, contact name, business email, business phone, business address, licensing information you choose to share, and profile content you publish.

Automatically: standard web analytics (pages visited, approximate location by IP, device type, referrer) collected through a privacy-respecting analytics tool.

We do not intentionally collect personal information about children. If a parent voluntarily includes a child's name in an inquiry message, that information is forwarded only to the daycare they contact and is not used for any other purpose.

3. How we use your information

  • To match families with daycares and route inquiries to the requested provider
  • To send transactional emails (inquiry confirmations, daycare responses, account updates)
  • To send service-related updates about LittleNest AI (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • To improve our platform and understand what's working
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use personal information for advertising or share it with advertisers.

4. AI processing

Some features of LittleNest AI use AI (artificial intelligence) to generate draft content for educators (learning stories, activity suggestions). When educators use these features:

  • Inputs are sent to a third-party large language model provider for processing.
  • We instruct educators not to enter identifiable child information (full name, birthdate, photos, medical info) into AI features. Educators are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before sharing it with parents.
  • We do not use parent inquiry data to train AI models.
  • AI providers may process data on servers located outside Canada (typically the United States). See Section 7.

5. Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to operate the service:

  • The daycare you contact — your inquiry is forwarded to them
  • Service providers acting on our behalf, including our cloud hosting provider, email delivery provider, AI model provider, and web analytics provider (and, once added, a payment processor)
  • Legal authorities when required by law

All service providers are bound by contract to protect your information.

6. How long we keep your information

  • Inquiry messages: retained for a reasonable period after the last interaction, then deleted or anonymized
  • Daycare account data: kept for as long as the account is active, and for a short period after closure to handle any final requests
  • Analytics data: retained only as long as needed to understand product usage trends

You can request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 9).

7. Where your information is stored

LittleNest AI is Canadian-built and privacy-first. We provision application storage (accounts, documentation, program plans, child portfolios) with cloud providers in Canadian regions where possible. Some subprocessors — including our AI providers, email delivery, and analytics — may process data outside Canada, typically in the United States. When data is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access by foreign authorities. By using our service, you consent to this transfer. See our Trust & Security page for the full picture.

8. How we protect your information

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable third-party infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access at privacy@littlenestfinder.com.

9. Your rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent to our processing (this may limit our ability to provide the service)
  • Request deletion of your data
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca or your provincial privacy regulator

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@littlenestfinder.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

10. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for essential site functions and analytics. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

11. Children

LittleNest AI is not directed at children. Our users are parents, caregivers, and daycare operators (adults 18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

12. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the following rights regarding personal information we collect about you:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any CCPA right, email privacy@littlenestfinder.com with "California privacy request" in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves. Material changes will be announced on our homepage and emailed to registered users. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
